Automatic Restriction Enzyme Analysis

The Automatic Restriction Enzyme Analysis function allows you to dynamically show selected restriction sites in the Map View of a sequence. It also works with the Align to Reference editor's Map view.

Although you can specify which restriction sites you want to use, and the number of times a particular enzyme will cut, for more complicated restriction mapping use the Restriction enzyme function. Additionally this is a dynamically calculated display and is therefore turned off by default for sequences larger than 50kb.

To use this functionality, it must be turned on in the Map View Preferences. This is the default.

This function is very useful for performing Click Cloning as unique restriction enzyme sites are displayed in a different color to ones that are cut multiple times.
