The Retrieve to Disk command is only enabled when a Description List window (containing the results of a database sequence alignment) is the frontmost window AND a section of text containing a locus name within this window has been selected. The Retrieve to Disk command enables you to extract the selected sequences from Entrez and save them directly to disk as MacVector-formatted files. This command will also enable to create a new folder within which to place the extracted sequence(s). To save sequences to a folder:
1. Make the Description List window active.
2. Select the sequences of interest in the description list.
3. Choose Database | Retrieve to Disk
A standard dialog box is displayed, so you can save the sequences to an existing folder or to create a new folder.
