The Paste command inserts the sequence data contained in the Clipboard, and any associated features, into the frontmost editing window. MacVector will also append a new 'frag' feature to the current window's Feature Table. This feature contains information on the source of the insertion and can therefore be useful in determining the editing history of the sequence.
The Paste command is only enabled if the active editing window is of the same sequence type as the current contents of the Clipboard AND the current sequence window is unlocked.
Note that you can also use the Paste command to insert generic TEXT data copied from any source (such as MacVector results windows or other applications) into a sequence window, provided that all the characters (excluding blank spaces, tabs, and carriage returns) are valid IUPAC codes. MacVector checks the text for you, enabling the PASTE command only after checking the contents of the Clipboard. Letter case is unimportant. There will not be any features associated with the TEXT obtained from any source other than MacVector sequence editing windows.
