The Entrez database, produced by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), provides access to DNA and protein sequences and related bibliographic information. The sequence data include the complete nucleotide and protein sequence data from the Genbank, EMBL, DDBJ, PIR, PRF, PDB, SWISS-PROT, dbEST and dbSTS databases, as well as data from U.S. and European patents. Entrez also contains a subset of the MEDLINE database, including references and abstracts which are cited in the sequence databases and other related MEDLINE records.
