Features Tab

In addition to editing and analyzing sequence data, MacVector enables you to designate functional labels for regions within the sequence, which can be used for future reference. MacVector displays these labels, or features, in the Features Tab in the main window, and saves this information with the sequence. Because features are associated with actual locations within the sequence, MacVector will automatically track any changes in a feature's position that result from editing operations on a sequence. The Map tab shows a graphical overview of all the features in a sequence. The features displayed in the map view can be selected using the graphics palette.

MacVector conforms to the Genbank Feature table nomenclature and only allows the creation of features according to the latest GenBank release. You can see the latest document on the NCBI's site detailing these:
