How do I import Genbank data from a web browser

MacVector will directly import a Genbank file using FILE |OPEN. However, many websites allow you to download a sequence by displaying a Genbank sequence. You can easily copy such sequences and directly paste into MacVector.

  1. In your web browser select the Genbank Sequence from the start to the double forward slashes at the end
  2. Select EDIT | COPY.
  3. Switch to MacVector
  4. FILE | NEW FROM CLIPBOARD.

See the Getting sequences into MacVector help topic for other ways to start working with your sequence in MacVector.
