The Job Manager allows you to monitor jobs that are running and to view the results of jobs that have finished. It will also show error messages if that job failed for any reason. Analyzes that use the Job Manager will allow you to close the progress dialog. When the job has finished you will be notified. You can then use the Job Manager to view the results of that job.
On certain dual core and dual CPU Macs, running jobs on both CPU's may cause instability. Use the Job Manager preferences to surpress the use of multiple CPUs if you see such issues. Currently Assembler, ClustalW, Online Keyword Search for Sequences (Entrez) and Online search for Similar Sequences (Blast) all submit jobs to the Job Manager. Expect future releases of MacVector to submit more types of analyze to the Job Manager.
