Keyboard Shortcuts

MacVector has a variety of keyboard shortcuts to help the experienced user access functions quickly.

Many menu selections can be performed by a command key combination. Following the standard Macintosh convention, these are noted on each menu to the right of the item. For example, if you look on the Edit menu, beside the 'Cut' item there is the notation 'Command-X'. This means that holding down the command key and pressing X is equivalent to using the mouse to select the Cut item from the Edit menu.

Some functions are only available via a keyboard shortcut - there is no menu equivalent.

The 'Command' key is the key with the Apple logo and the command clover leaf symbol on it. Some people call it the Apple key.

The 'Option' key is either labelled 'option' or 'alt', depending on your keyboard.

Another example is [CMD] + [OPTION] + [c] which will copy the reverse complement of any selected sequence to the clipboard.

In the various line graph result windows, the following shortcuts can be used:

- Align to Folder Map Results
