MacVector is an easy to use Sequence Analysis application to help Molecular Biologists analyse, assemble and document DNA and protein sequences. It provides sequence editing, primer design, internet database searching, protein analysis, sequence alignment, phylogenetic reconstruction, coding region analysis, and a wide variety of other functions.
All the functions are available from single tabbed windows that are based around your sequence(s). These are presented in a Single Sequence editor, a Multiple Sequence Alignment Editor (MSA Editor), a Tracefile Editor or the Align to Reference Alignment Editor. All functions are available in a maximum of a few mouse clicks through menus from these windows.
A floating analysis toolbar keeps all commonly used analysis accessible with a single mouse click.
MacVector is designed to be as easy as possible to use, whilst also allowing the power user to run in depth analysis straight from the main window.
